Within the framework of the project “Supporting the promotion of Green Economy and constructive public dialogue in Armenia” funded by the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme, a series of consultations took place with the presence of civil society, scientific and local self-governance representatives. The “Green Agenda” has garnered some interest during the recent years given its timeliness and vital importance in the sustainable development prospects of Armenia.

The consultation took place in Yerevan and three more marzes: Ararat, Syunik, Shirak from April 19 to May 10. “Biosophia” Healthcare, Environment and Agriculture Development Center NGO which implements the project succeeded to organize an active and interactive discussion to enable diversity of views and exchange of thoughts in the spheres of biodiversity, circular economy, green finances, and sustainable agriculture within the context of transformation of the economy. The experts in these four fields presented their studies, international practices, and respective recommendations in the context of green transformation of Armenia’s economy. 

It is foreseen to hold another summary consultation in Yerevan, after which the project plans to submit a package of recommendations to assist the process of Armenia’s Green Economy Strategy development.
