UNDP Climate, Environment and Resilience Portfolio Manager Hovhannes Ghazaryan emphasized that this infrastructure will enable irrigation of at least 300 hectars of land preventing the land degradation and ensuring a long-term land productivity. Most importantly it directly benefits around 200 households, including 20 refugee families settled in this community opening a chance for them to improve their livelihood and raise food security.

The project serves as a unique example of synergy among the community, state and international donor organization which can be replicated and scaled up in other communities as well.
