Teachers took part in “Eco-Café” workshop within the framework of Green Book project
In Armenia the creation of innovative information technology platform as a means to discuss environmental issues aims at raising awareness among school children and coming up with innovative solutions to such problems. On June 7, within the framework of Green Book project the UN House hosted the workshop titled “Eco-Café” with a participation of schoolteachers. The project is being implemented by “Women in Climate and Energy” NGO through the funding by UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme.
During the workshop the teachers of Natural Science subjects had a chance to brainstorm on digital eco-education with their counterparts from other schools, exchange their experience and practice and come up with solutions to the environmental problems their assigned topics entailed.
In the end, the teachers were awarded by UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme certificate of participation. Some of the teachers maintained that the concept of “Eco-Café” can be applied also at schools to promote active discussion among schoolchildren on environmental issues.
