The project aims to address the environmental issue related to air pollution caused by emissions arising from the use of motor vehicles. The project envisages producing a special device, muffler aerodynamic extension model (MAEM) to be installed on vehicle muffler for reduction of fuel consumption without affecting the engine power. Relevantly, the emissions of engine, particularly emission of carbon dioxide will be reduced.
The efficiency of the project will be evaluated through conduction of tests on motor vehicles of different models in the town of Vedi and on vehicle fleet of “Grand Candy” LLC, “Arminco” LLC and “Baron” taxi service.
It is expected to:
• Develop technological equipment for MAEM production and produce 3000 units of MAEM
• Conduct testing on different types of motor vehicles including the result analysis
• Production of video film demonstrating the MAEM installation and testing process. Disseminate information on the results achieved, organize marketing, advertising and awareness campaign
• Involvement of investors to fund the further production of the device
As a result of the MAEM application the carbon dioxide emission will be reduced by 961 tons, consumption of fuel by motor vehicles will be reduced by 10-15%.
Project Results
The project will produce the following results:
• Production and installment of 3,000 MAEM
• Reduction of vehicle fuel consumption by 10-15%
• Prevention of air pollution by reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 961 tons per year
• Saving of 375,000 USD annually by 3,000 MAEM users
• Education of 1,000 project participants on the global environmental issues and application of innovative technologies
• Establishment of small plant ensuring the continuation and expansion of the project
• Production of video film on the MEAM installation and testing process
• Dissemination and public awareness on the project achievements, marketing and attraction of new investments.
